AVAA advises different profiles of collectors as private individuals, companies and foundations into their artwork research on the contemporary art market.
AVAA working process
1- Definition of the collector vision on his acquisition :
AVAA listens to the collector around three topics :
The budget : emerging artist, emerging artist already exhibited in major art fairs, mid-career artist, blue-chip artist.
The project : first acquisition, interior design, portfolio diversification, company brand image, build a collection, specific research for a collection, create an exhibition.
The tastes : the medium (painting, sculpture, wall sculpture, photography, video, mix media), figurative or abstract, the period, the topic, the artist nationality, the colors used.
2- The artist presentation :
AVAA presents a selection of artists to the collector sharing with him its gallerist eye and its art market analysis. Each artist presented is followed by precise information on the artist profile, the artistic series produced (artistic message, number of production years, number of art pieces produced), the exhibitions done, the market value evolution, the key players support (galleries, foundations, museums), the auction house’s results and the media coverage.
3- The art piece research :
When an artist presented fits to the collector expectations, AVAA will look for art pieces from this artist available to sale on the art market using its network through diverse sources (first market gallery, second market gallery, artist, private collector).
If the collector get interested in the art pieces presented, AVAA invites the collector to see the art piece in the gallery, in the artist studio or in a private viewing.
For a more specific demand, AVAA is pleased to :
- ask the artist to work on commission for a specific art piece.
- invite the collector to see art pieces from the artist in art fair previews to identify potential new acquisitions.
- act as representative at auction to chase a targeted art piece.
4- The art piece acquisition :
If the collector decides to purchase an art piece, AVAA negotiates with the art piece seller (gallery, artist, private collector) to get the best possible price for the collector.
The selling price is transparent as the collector gets the invoice directly from the art piece seller. AVAA supervises all legalities of the art piece acquisition, shipping and insurance.
About AVAA commission :
After the first meeting which defines the collector vision on his acquisition, if the collector wants to use AVAA services, a contract will be signed between the collector and AVAA to guarantee to AVAA its commission. This commission paid by the collector is due only in case of a successful sale and is based on a percentage of the art piece purchase price.
To preserve the collector interests, getting an impartial approach in the artwork suggestion, the remuneration of AVAA is only paid by the buyer (the collector). AVAA doesn’t get any commission from the seller (gallery, artist, private collector).
